El 18 Vermut Blanco

Bodega El Lomo

Tegueste , España

Overall impression

El 18 Blanco shares the red's philosophy: Abel López's creativity and El Lomo's winemaking tradition in Tegueste, with a Listán Blanco base from Canarian volcanic terroir. Eighteen local botanics — infused or macerated — transform the wine into a semidry, luminous aperitif vermouth, designed to «open the appetite» before seafood spreads and island cuisine. Part of the Vermut de Tenerife offer distributed by Casa del Vino — the white pole of a Canarian vermouth project that fuses Cuban bartending culture with Tenerife viticulture.

Nose and palate

Pending evaluation.

How to serve it

Cold, on its own with ice or in summery cocktails. Pairs with fish, seafood and light tapas; also as a base in Canarian spritz with local sparkling wine. The bodega's island logic emphasises cold service and seafood pairings where the Blanco's freshness and moderate bitterness complement Atlantic produce without dominating.

Production context

Same production chain as the red: maceration in stainless steel at Bodegas El Lomo (since 1989 in the Tegueste valley). 15% vol., 70 cl. Marketed through the Vermut de Tenerife / Casa del Vino network alongside El 18 Rojo from Listán Negro. For Vermutpedia, the Blanco is the luminous, semidry counterpart in El Lomo's Canarian vermouth duo.
