Antiquus Vermut Rojo
Overall impression
Antiquus is the vermouth of Bodega Val da Lenda (Sober, Amandi subzone, Ribeira Sacra), launched in late 2024 after years of trials with Godello and Mencía. The commercial release bets on Mencía red: a vermouth that «tastes of wine» with vegetal, citrus, cinnamon and caramel notes, designed for very cold aperitivo as well as dessert — even with dark chocolate. Bottle and case won design gold at the World Vermouth Awards 2025.

How to serve it
Very cold, without ice, as the winery recommends. Also with ice and orange in classic aperitivo, or paired with dark chocolate for dessert.
Production context
Made at Val da Lenda with Mencía red wine, sugar, alcohol, natural aromas and E150a caramel. First run of about 1,500 bottles. 15% vol., 75 cl. Sole vermouth reference in the winery's current catalogue.
