Cornudella de Montsant
Overall impression
Vermut de la Cooperativa is the aperitif expression of Celler Cooperatiu de Cornudella de Montsant, a historic winery in the heart of Priorat and the Montsant D.O. (Tarragona). According to the cooperative's official sheet, it is made with Montsant white wine and black mistela from the bleeding of the house's own Garnacha wines, which provides natural sugars without industrial sweetness. Twenty natural species enter as concentrate, with a small amount of caramel binding the ingredients — a centenary formula the celler has maintained since its origins. For Vermutpedia, it represents the reference Montsant cooperative vermouth: territorial wine, own Garnacha mistela and inherited unchanged formula in a wine village between mountain and river.

Pending evaluation.
How to serve it
Very cold in a wide glass or over ice, in the Catalan bar vermouth line: olives, preserves and simple mountain-Mediterranean aperitivo. The cooperative also offers the «Virmut» experience at the celler, where it is tasted alongside current wines from the territory. Available at the official Cornudella de Montsant shop (around €8, 75 cl).
