Overall impression
Corona de Aragón Vermouth Blanco completed the vermouth pair of Grandes Vinos y Viñedos in Cariñena: where the red macerates estate wine in barrel, the white bet on aromatic herbs from the Aragonese surroundings over local white wine. The result was a vermouth of great Mediterranean intensity — rosemary, lavender and thyme marked the profile — with 90 Peñín points at the time of commercialisation. According to Grandes Vinos y Viñedos, the white is no longer part of the current range; we preserve the entry for encyclopaedic purposes.
Nose and palate
Golden yellow. Powerful, herbaceous nose: rosemary, lavender and thyme dominate with marked aromatic diversity. On the palate fresh, with citrus and spiced touches; intensity without aggressiveness, balance typical of Aragonese winery vermouth. The white offered a complementary profile to the red Corona de Aragón — lighter in colour but equally rooted in the garriga and herb gardens of the Cariñena landscape.
How to serve it
Serve at 8–10 °C as aperitivo with olives and preserves. Natural partner to Corona de Aragón red on table or bar — the kind of regional white vermouth that belonged on an Aragonese terrace before the reference left the active catalogue.
Production context
Made in Cariñena (Zaragoza) with white wine artisanally macerated with aromatic herbs from the area. 15% vol., 75 cl. The white Corona de Aragón reference left the catalogue; the active range still includes Corona de Aragón Vermouth Tinto. For Vermutpedia, it remains one of the highest-scoring Spanish whites in our archive — a discontinued but historically significant expression of Aragonese vermouth culture.
