Malaquita is the artisan vermouth of the Esgueva Valley (Renedo de Esgueva, Valladolid), launched in 2021 after more than twenty-five years of sector experience. Tempranillo with fifteen months in American oak and maceration of botanicals, plants, fruits and natural extracts. Modern, with Castilian identity; Bacchus Silver 2022. For Vermutpedia, it represents contemporary Castilian vermouth: barrel-aged Tempranillo, integrated botanicals and a profile that balances generosity with a clean bitter close — the sole reference of a focused, territorially rooted brand.

Nose and palate

Intense ruby, clean and bright. Aromatic herbs, balsamic notes, citrus, spice, dark fruit and caramel on the nose. Intense, generous, fruity, fresh and balanced on the palate; slightly bitter finish with great persistence. Wormwood, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, cardamom, grapes and walnuts among the botanicals. The fifteen months in American oak add warmth and spice without masking the Tempranillo fruit; semisweet body and contained bitterness make Malaquita both an aperitif and a cocktail base with Castilian personality.

How to serve it

Cold with ice and orange; Castilian aperitif or cocktail base. Serve very cold in a wide glass or balloon; orange peel enhances citrus and balances the semisweet, slightly barrel-influenced profile. Works in Negroni, Manhattan or on the rocks with tapas — cured meats, aged cheese and conservas — where the balsamic-spiced character can unfold without heavy dilution.
