Ingredients
- 60 ml Rye whiskey (or bourbon)
- 30 ml Red vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 cherry Maraschino (garnish, optional)
Method
- Combine whiskey, vermouth, and bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until chilled (about 30 seconds).
- Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry or an orange twist.
Tips
- Rye brings spice and dryness; bourbon makes a rounder Manhattan.
- A 2:1 ratio is standard; try 5:2 if you prefer more whiskey.
