Overall impression

Carpano Bianco is the most elegant and perfumed white vermouth of the Carpano range, made by Fratelli Branca Distillerie in Turin. Born in the 1930s as an expression of the «French Vermouth» recovered from the house historic archive, antecedent of the vermouth Antonio Benedetto Carpano invented in 1786. Sweet, fresh and richly aromatic, it occupies the clear register alongside Rosso Classico, Dry, Antica Formula and Punt e Mes. 14.9% vol., usual 1 litre format. The Italian white reference for aperitif and Carpano Tonic: complex bouquet, wine mineralité and versatility the brand recommends served very cold neat, on the rocks with grapefruit or in unique cocktails.

Nose and palate

Pale yellow colour with fresh, complex aroma. Dominant wine note, completed by citrus and exotic fruit nuances; fresh cocoa bean and almond close a perfumed, distinctive bouquet. Initially mellow and velvety on the palate; the wine note then emerges with complexity and mineralité. Persistent and very pleasant, with lightly bitter botanicals — bitter orange peel, mace, cinnamon — balancing semisweet sweetness. Silky texture, easy passage, clean elegant finish. Compared with Carpano Dry — 18% vol., extra dry profile — Bianco is sweeter, floral and aperitif-oriented.

How to serve it

Designed to serve very cold neat — classic Turin aperitif highlighting aromatic freshness and wine mineralité. Also on the rocks with a grapefruit slice, in the brand's Carpano Tonic suggestion: six centilitres Bianco, top with tonic and ice. Works in unique cocktails seeking sweet-perfumed Italian white vermouth. Pairs with olives, dried fruit, soft cheeses and Mediterranean aperitifs. 1 litre format, 14.9% vol.
