Hipócritas Rojo Rojísimo
Overall impression
Hipócritas Rojo Rojísimo is the cult red of Hipócritas, artisan Chilean vermouth from the Itata Valley. According to @hipocritas_vermut (March 2026), it starts from a Viña San Vicente Cinsault — lush, persistent and very fruity — and a distillate highlighting toasted cacao, pepper, orange and grapefruit peels, maqui, dried cherry and sour cherry, peppers, cardamom, hibiscus flower and «endless magics». The house calls it intense, elegant, spiced, aromatic and cult: a classic among classics with a cinematic character. For Vermutpedia, it is the spiced-fruity counterpart to the house citrus Blanco.
Nose and palate
Pending evaluation. Trade sheet (Instagram): intense, elegant, spiced and aromatic; fruity Cinsault; distillate with toasted cacao, pepper, bitter citrus, maqui, cherry, sour cherry, cardamom and hibiscus; «old-school gentleman» character.
How to serve it
Ideal with ice and an orange slice. Long drinks: the mythical ferrocarril with fernet. Classic cocktails: Martini, Manhattan or Negroni. Typical serving temperature 6–10 °C.
Production context
Same Hipócritas philosophy: fortified aromatised wine made with patience and tenderness, in dialogue with Itata viticulture (documented visit to Guarilihue / Viña San Vicente). Base: Cinsault; fortification/maceration with botanicals and dried fruits from the south. No public ABV or bottle format in the sources consulted. Sibling: Hipócritas Blanco.
