Overall impression

Lustau Vermut Rosé is the world's first rosé vermouth made with Jerez wines, according to lustau.es. It completes the winery's premium vermouth range—Rojo and Blanco—that leads the segment in Spain. Made with a blend of dry Fino, floral Moscatel and fruity Tintilla de Rota, under Master Blender Fernando Pérez and Cellar Master Sergio Martínez. Designed for afterwork: refreshing, silky and irresistibly attractive. 15% vol., 75 cl. For Vermutpedia, it represents Jerez rosé vermouth: contemporary, fruity and very oriented to spritz with tonic or cava.

Nose and palate

Delicate orange-pink colour with copper reflections. On the nose, floral and herbaceous notes intertwining with fruity and spiced aromas: wild strawberry, orange blossom, pastry and subtle hazelnut background, according to official communication. Vanilla, cardamom, nutmeg, chamomile and wormwood compose a delicate, subtle, friendly and deliciously sweet vermouth. On the palate, spices and herbs followed by comforting sweetness leaving a silky sensation. Silky texture, gentle passage, medium length. Compared with Lustau Rojo—more intense and spiced—and Blanco—drier and more herbal—Rosé is the most feminine and fruity of the trio.

How to serve it

Lustau recommends it with ice, tonic, soda, cava or prosecco and a slice of pink grapefruit—afterwork format documented on lustau.es. Also very cold in a wide glass neat, or in rosé spritz with brut cava. Serve between 6 and 8 °C; grapefruit enhances citrus and red fruit of the profile. Pairs with light appetisers, soft cheeses and fruity desserts. Not classic Negroni vermouth: it shines in refreshing mixed drinks. For Vermutpedia, Lustau Rosé is the Jerez base for rosé spritz documented on Lustau's official shop.

Production context

Emilio Lustau makes the Rosé in Jerez: base of Fino, Moscatel and Tintilla de Rota; ten botanicals separately macerated—wormwood, cardamom, chamomile, vanilla and nutmeg stand out—before final blend with wine. Fortified with neutral Airén grape alcohol. 15% vol., 75 cl. Lustau highlights individual maceration of each botanical for optimal aromatic extraction. Contains sulphites. For Vermutpedia, Lustau Vermut Rosé synthesises Andalusian rosé vermouth: Jerez, three base wines, semisweet-fruity profile and sheet verifiable at lustau.es/vermut/lustau-lanza-el-primer-vermut-rose-de-jerez/.
