Overall impression

Mon Dieu! Blanco completes the Rioja trio of Álvaro and Javier Usarralde (Châpeau Wines, Alfaro): vermouth on Viura must with nine months in barrel and infused with extracts of herbs, flowers, roots, spices and fruits. It recalls classic whites with a modern soul; the name was born in Bordeaux as a tribute to Denis Dubourdieu. Part of the proceeds go to the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer).

Nose and palate

Intense aromas of stone fruit and soft vanilla. Great balance between sweetness and bitterness; round, elegant aftertaste, less spiced than red Original and more luminous in the glass.

How to serve it

Cold with ice; also in cocktails where you want a spiced white with brief ageing in French oak.

Production context

Made with ancestral winemaking techniques in Alfaro. 15% vol., 75 cl. Mon Dieu! range: Blanco, Original (12 months in barrel) and Réserve.
