Vermut Montseta Rosado
Overall impression
Vermut Montseta Rosado reinterprets the Reus tradition of using cherry sugar in syrup in times of scarcity, according to Vadevermut. Montseta macerates the best available cherry as part of its 32 botanicals. Premi Vinari d'Or for Catalan rosé vermouth (2018). Fourth reference in the range alongside Rojo, Blanco and Reserva. For Vermutpedia, it represents the fruit-forward, summery pole of the Bellod range: cherry identity, KM0 Macabeo and the same three-month oak pipeline as the red — Valls rosé vermouth with documented award history.
Nose and palate
KM0 Macabeo base and proximity botanicals as in the rest of the range. The cherry component adds fruity sweetness and distinctive rosé tone versus classic red. Acidity-bitterness-sweetness balance inherited from the Bellod house in Valls. On the nose, cherry maceration brings candied red fruit over wormwood and cinnamon; colour is warm pink without artificial confectionery tone. On the palate, semisweet fruitiness integrates with herbal bitterness — cherry lifts rather than dominates. Compared with Montseta Blanco, the Rosado is fruitier and more playful; against the Rojo, lighter and more summer-oriented. Texture is fluid and terrace-friendly. The Vinari d'Or 2018 validates quality within a creative, tradition-rooted brief.
How to serve it
Cold, neat or with ice; summer aperitif alternative to white and red Montseta. Serve between 4 and 8 °C with abundant ice; a cherry or orange peel garnish enhances the fruit profile. Works in rosé spritz with soda or cava for festive sessions. Pairs with fruit tarts, soft cheeses, summer salads and light tapas. Less suited to bitter-heavy Negroni — Rosado wants sunshine and ice. For Vermutpedia, Montseta Rosado is drunk very cold with ice as the summery fourth reference of the Valls range at montseta.com.
Production context
Made in Valls (Alt Camp, Tarragona). 32 botanicals including macerated cherry; same three-month barrel pipeline as the red. 15% vol., 75 cl. Premi Vinari d'Or 2018. Part of the Montseta range with Rojo, Blanco and Reserva. Bellod family third generation; KM0 Macabeo from own and local vineyards. For Vermutpedia, Montseta Rosado synthesises cherry-driven Valls rosé vermouth: 32 botanicals, Reus-inspired tradition and verifiable documentation at vadevermut.com and montseta.com.
