Vermut Montseta Decennals is the scarcest, most collectible reference from the Bellod house in Valls (Alt Camp, Tarragona): a special edition made only once every ten years. Per GuiaVermut, the 2021+1 edition — released a year after the original project due to the pandemic — concentrates the entire process in three chestnut barrels bought two years earlier expressly for this vermouth: from botanical infusion through final rest. Unlike Reserva (American oak, twelve months) or Rojo (oak, three months), chestnut wood brings a softer, toastier aromatic profile. Extremely limited production by the volume of three barrels; a piece for Valls vermouth collectors. Vermutpedia score: pending.

Nose and palate

Pending evaluation. GuiaVermut points to chestnut fineness and KM0 botanicals (wormwood, aromatic herbs, flowers, roots, cinnamon) in continuity with Montseta philosophy.

How to serve it

Cold or slightly tempered, with little dilution: a guarda/collector edition where chestnut wood deserves attention. Neat in a glass, or with one ice cube and citrus twist if freshness is wanted without masking rarity. Less terrace-mass vermouth than Rojo or Rosado; more unhurried tasting.

Made in Valls by Vermut Montseta (Bellod family / Montseta Group S.L.; Lisard Bellod). Decennial process: three chestnut barrels as sole vessel for botanicals and rest. Same KM0 and Macabeo orbit as Rojo, Blanco, Rosado and Reserva. Alcohol aligned with the range (15% vol.); usual 75 cl format.
