Overall impression

Muntaner Rosé is a spectacular rosé vermouth traditionally made in Mallorca by Antonio Nadal Destilerías. Wine base with fourteen Mediterranean botanicals macerated forty days in 500-litre oak barrels, following the original Mr. Muntaner recipe since 1898. No added sugars or artificial additives; natural sweetness comes from the fructose of Prensal Blanc must, an indigenous Mallorcan variety. Gold Category for Best Vermouth at the VINARI Awards 2025. For Vermutpedia, it represents the rosé pole of the Muntaner triad: an evolution of the white with a second maceration in hibiscus and berries for pigment and aroma, completing Blanco/Rojo/Rosé at the Mallorcan distillery. At 18% vol. and 75 cl, it bets on natural colour, Mediterranean florality and Balearic artisan tradition without concessions to industrial rosé.

Nose and palate

Intense pink colour achieved through maceration of hibiscus flowers and red tea, without artificial colourants. Floral, fruity and spiced aromas with notes of herbs and prune. On the palate it is fresh, silky and balanced, with notable roundness and an enveloping passage. Acidity is corrected exclusively with Prensal Blanc must — the same philosophy as the rest of the Muntaner range. Compared with the Rojo — mahogany, prune, raisin remaceration — the Rosé prioritises florality and freshness; compared with the Blanco, it adds hibiscus pigment and berry aromatics. Texture is seductive without cloying; the finish is clean and inviting. The natural sweetness from grape must integrates with Mediterranean botanicals after forty days in oak. A rosé for palates seeking genuine Mallorcan vermouth with award-winning credentials and no artificial colouring.

How to serve it

Ideal on its own with ice and orange peel, or in cocktails such as the Mallorcan Spritz — Muntaner rosé and pink grapefruit soda — a low-alcohol aperitif for demanding palates. Also works in spritz with cava or tonic on a Mediterranean terrace. Serve very cold, between 4 and 6 °C; the hibiscus and floral notes open with chill without losing roundness. The orange peel complements the citrus-herbal profile; ice keeps the 18% vol. refreshing. For brunch or afternoon aperitif, the Rosé offers elegance without the density of the Rojo. Pairs with light tapas, seafood and summer salads. For Vermutpedia, Muntaner Rosé is terrace vermouth with Balearic identity: ice, citrus and calm Mediterranean pace.

Production context

Antonio Nadal Destilerías makes Muntaner Rosé in Mallorca as an evolution of the white vermouth, with a second maceration in hibiscus and berries for pigment and aroma. Base of grape must and fourteen botanicals, preserving the natural colour from infusions of raisins and plums shared with the rest of the Muntaner range. Forty days in 500-litre oak barrels; acidity corrected only with Prensal Blanc must. 18% vol., 75 cl. Completes the Blanco/Rojo/Rosé triad. Gold Category for Best Vermouth, VINARI Awards 2025. For Vermutpedia, Muntaner Rosé synthesises artisan Balearic rosé vermouth: hibiscus, Prensal Blanc, no additives, verifiable at antonionadal.es.
