Ó Vermut Blanco
Vermutpedia Score: 7.6/10
Overall impression
Ó Vermut Blanco is the second reference of the brand born as La Solía: artisan Cantabrian vermouth with a second maceration in km 0 eucalyptus, a local ingredient distinguishing the white from the red (port tea). The house conceives it as «the aroma of Cantabrian forests»: fresh, mentholated and designed for seafood and salads.
Nose and palate
Pale gold with greenish reflections. Persistent nose: intense eucalyptus with sage, citronella, rosemary, liquorice, chamomile, pennyroyal, bay and coriander. Citrus and herbal on the palate, green apple and pear; eucalyptus brings distinctive freshness. Gentle bitterness, silky texture and balanced acidity.
How to serve it
Cold with ice and lemon twist; spritz or cocktails where a mentholated note is wanted. Pairs with oysters, prawns and light fish.
Production context
More than eighty botanicals as in the red, with specific maceration in local eucalyptus. Rest in old solera casks. No preservatives. 15% vol., 75 cl. Range includes Vermut Rojo Ó.
