Overall impression

Vermut de Naranja Gin Fusión (2023) starts from the Vermut Picofino Original recipe and adds macerated and distilled orange peel, according to picofinoclub.com. The Patito Ruso Company S.L. makes it in Meres (Siero, Asturias) with the same gin-fusion philosophy: fortification with five-times-distilled Picofino gin instead of neutral alcohol. Fresh, intensely citrus result, balanced sweetness and surprising character; designed for solo drinking or spritz.

Nose and palate

Official tasting: sweet, intensely citrus entry yielding to clean bitterness at the end. Apparently softer despite 15% vol. Orange nose with juniper, anise and cinnamon; smooth passage where gin brings Picofino Original character. Refreshing and easy to drink.

How to serve it

Solo: cold in a short glass or wine glass, large ice cube and twist or orange slice. Picofino Spritz: orange vermouth, abundant ice, orange slice and tonic. Also available in mini and 3 L double magnum for hospitality.
