Sibona Barolo Chinato
Overall impression
Vermutpedia is re-evaluating the Italian catalogue; this entry's Vermutpedia Score remains pending until the new tasting round is complete. Sibona Barolo Chinato is the Piedmontese aromatised wine from Antica Distilleria Domenico Sibona (Piobesi d'Alba): a Barolo wine base with calisaya china and other herbs and spices according to the house's traditional artisan recipe. A characteristic Piedmont aromatised wine, traditionally drunk after meals; the distillery markets it alongside Vermouth Civico 10 as its second vermouth reference. According to the official sheet: bright garnet red colour, intense refined bouquet with calisaya china, cardamom and clove, cherry and orange peel; full, velvety, harmonious palate. Gold medal 2024 and Best Liqueur of the Year 2023 at international competitions per the distillery catalogue.
