Overall impression

Siderit Vermut Reserva is Destilería Siderit's line of limited annual editions (Arce, Cantabria): based on Pedro Ximénez with double maceration — vermouth bitter herbs and melliferous flowers from the Cantabrian coast, with heather predominant — no added sugar, only the natural sweetness of PX. Each vintage ages twenty-four months in a different wood; the pictured 2022 Reserva ages in Spanish white oak, versus Cherry Wood Reserva 2020 in cherry barrels.

Nose and palate

Intense mahogany red with amber highlights. Subtle wood character that makes it very special, according to the bodega's technical sheet. Very long finish with penetrating wood touches and intense bitter notes; greater depth and roundness than classic Siderit in Jerez cask.

How to serve it

With ice and orange peel; in Negroni or Manhattan when seeking depth without artificial sweetness.

Production context

Line launched in 2021; limited numbered editions per vintage (2021, 2022…). 15% vol., 75 cl. Siderit vermouth range: classic, Reservas in white oak and Cherry Wood in cherry.
