Overall impression

Txurrut Vintage Zuria («zuria» = white in Basque) is the luminous counterpart of the range launched in 2014 by Antonio Vence in Sopuerta (Enkarterri): «softness and freshness for those magical moments», against the force of Vintage red. On local Hondarribi Zuri, it shares the artisan philosophy of the rest of the family — Imanol Sarasola in winemaking, Nuria Ortega in design — with a more delicate Atlantic profile.

Nose and palate

Bright straw colour. Aromatic herbs, balsamics, citrus, wormwood and vanilla on the nose; softness and freshness on the palate with glyceric texture and spiced aromas without the assertiveness of Vintage red. Integrated herbaceous bitterness, balanced sweetness.

How to serve it

Very cold with ice and lemon; Basque aperitif or spritz. Also in the chestnuts in vermouth the bodega makes with this same base.

Production context

Hondarribi Zuri base from Sopuerta vineyards; maceration with around twenty botanicals following the Txurrut protocol (fennel, juniper, vanilla, walnut, rose petals, among others). Bottled at Destilerías Manuel Acha (Amurrio). 15% vol., 75 cl. Range: Txurrut, Vintage, Zuria, Luxuzko and X Aniversario.
