Overall impression

Vermuth Ecológico Celler Arrufí is the vermouth from family winery Celler Arrufí in Batea (DO Terra Alta, Tarragona), founded by Sol and Esteve Arrufí with organic certification since 2008 and vegan winemaking. According to cellerarrufi.com, every ingredient — caramel, botanicals, aromas, sugar and alcohol — is organically certified; the house places itself among the six wineries in the Spanish state that produce vermouth with certified organic seal, and the product is also a Biosphere reserve product. Base of estate White Grenache; two botanical macerations (spices and citrus in the first; Mediterranean herbs in the second) blended «alchemically» before French oak barrel ageing. Amber hue with caramel reflections; gastronomic, long, unctuous profile per the winery. 16% vol. For Vermutpedia, it documents organic, vegan Terra Alta vermouth: local white Garnacha, Mediterranean botanicals and short French oak ageing.
