Overall impression

Vermut Lolito Blanco is the pale reference of Gran Canaria's first vermouth brand, born in 2020 at the Valle de Mogán restaurant (Pueblo Mogán) by David Coque, Aida Marrero and Diego Tornell. The idea: offer customers a fully artisan product, made from botanical blending through wine assembly, sweetness level, bottling and labelling. The name honours Lolito, the Marrero family's twelve-year-old chihuahua — «quite the gentleman», according to the label. Aromatised spirit with eight botanicals and assembly of Spanish wines; the white stands out for bright golden colour, refreshing acidity and a spiced aromatic profile. Registered trademark. The «factory» is visitable at Calle Los Pasitos, 2, Pueblo Mogán. Range with Lolito Tinto. Not an imported vermouth dressed as Canarian: a local project with full process control, from restaurant to bottle.

Nose and palate

Bright golden colour in the glass. Refreshing acidity that anticipates a lively profile, far from cloying. Very aromatic and spiced: mugwort and Mogán citrus peels mark the bouquet, backed by the eight botanicals in the formula and the assembly of Spanish wines. On the palate, velvety and enveloping, with integrated spices and persistent finish. Semisweet profile balanced by acidity; neither a sweet white nor an astringent dry. Medium passage, gentle texture. Local citrus brings Canarian Atlantic freshness; mugwort, soft herbal bitterness. 15% vol. A white vermouth designed for the climate of Gran Canaria's south coast: light, aromatic, inviting.

How to serve it

Ideal very cold with a fresh lime slice — service the house explicitly recommends for the white. On the Valle de Mogán terrace or at home, with ice in a wide glass if greater dilution is preferred. Pairs with fresh fish, soft cheeses, olives and Canarian tapas. Also works as pre-dinner aperitivo at Mogán harbour. A visit to the «factory» on Calle Los Pasitos completes the experience: vermouth with a restaurant story behind it. 75 cl format. Contact: +34 686 122 338, valledemoganrestaurante@mail.com. It does not seek the complexity of an ecological Mallorcan white nor Jerez power: it is island vermouth, relaxed and honest.

Production context

Full artisan production in Gran Canaria: selection and blending of eight botanicals → assembly of Spanish wines → sweetness adjustment → bottling and labelling in Pueblo Mogán. 2020 project; registered Vermut «Lolito» trademark. Team: David Coque, Aida Marrero, Diego Tornell (Valle de Mogán restaurant). White and red in range; the red incorporates wormwood, spiced notes and a tannic touch with orange service. 15% vol., 75 cl. Philosophy: «Those who know how to drink in moderation know how to live». Gran Canaria's first vermouth with tourist and local vocation, born from a restaurant kitchen that wanted to control its own house aperitivo.
