Vermouth El Artesano is the entry point to the vermouth range of Bodegas y Destilerías Vidal, a family company from Almassora (Castellón) with a long track record in sweet wines, liqueurs and spirits. The house defines its formula as “unique” and passes it down from generation to generation; above it sit Artesano Selección and Gran Artesano 1899. Accessible in litre format, it is a Castellón vermouth for bar and home aperitif with a marked herbal personality.

Nose and palate

Intense, bright red. Complex nose: vanilla, clove, figs, orange peel and caramel notes; a light balsamic layer that structures the aromatic whole. On the palate dried fruit and orange peel appear at the start; the centre is bitter — wormwood and citrus — with persistent acidity balancing the sweetness. Fresh, generous and broad on the palate, without the barrel depth of the house’s top references.

How to serve it

Very cold with ice, orange and olive; available in 50 cl, 75 cl and 1 L. Fits home tap vermouth or cocktails seeking a direct, spiced Spanish red.

Production context

Obtained from a careful selection of aromatic herbs and quality wines, following the bodega’s traditional craftsmanship at the El Mijares industrial estate (Calle Valencia 16, Almassora). 15% vol.; usual format 1 L. The Artesano range includes Selección and Gran Artesano as higher tiers.
