4 Xavos Vermut Rojo is the flagship reference of Bodegas Alonso Sanz (Aielo de Malferit, Valencia), a family winery founded in 2010 by Juan Sanz and Marta Alonso. The name pays tribute to a beloved relative and to the Valencian expression «4 Xavos» («it won't cost much»). It stands out for being made from a red Garnacha wine base — unusual among Spanish vermouths — and a three-generation recipe left unchanged.

How to serve it

Very cold (4–6 °C), neat or over ice with an orange peel. Aperitivo with olives, preserves, Mediterranean tapas and charcuterie. Gold-medal winner at PROAVA according to 5B Selección.

Production context

Made in Aielo de Malferit (Valencia). Garnacha Tintorera red wine base; 21 wild organic botanicals. Approx. two months maceration, filtration and artisan bottling. 15% vol., 75 cl. Range siblings: Blanco, Crianza (barrel) and Azahar.
