Overall impression

Antich Original Blanc adapts the 1850 Barcelona recipe to the modern palate without caramelised sugar: the brightest, most floral expression of Casa Antich (Grupo Vallformosa). Organic DO Penedès Macabeo with oxidative barrel ageing before botanical infusion; the pale straw colour comes from the grape, not caramel. «Barcelona's vermouth» alongside the Rosso and the oak-aged Reserva.

Nose and palate

Bright straw with steel highlights. Nose of white fruit, clove, elderflower and orange peel. Complex, balanced palate, a liqueur-like touch reminiscent of Cointreau; long finish with honey, apple and cinnamon.

How to serve it

Very cold over ice; Mediterranean terrace aperitivo. Antich range: Original red, Reserva and Blanc.

Production context

Infusion with vanilla, gentian, thyme, wormwood and bitter orange on an organic base wine. 15% vol., 70 cl. Revived by the sixth generation (Pau Matias-Guiu Martí) in 2021. Made in Vilafranca del Penedès.
