Overall impression

Bocamanga Rojo Barrica is the flagship of Pista Corta Bodegas (Becerril de la Sierra, Madrid): «gastronomic» vermouth — «the essential» on the house card — conceived to pair with traditional cooking, not just for aperitif. 100% Tempranillo wine macerated with twelve botanicals; four months in American oak that previously aged rum. Excellent in Guía Peñín with 91 points.

Nose and palate

Dark mahogany colour. Complex nose: floral yeasts, citrus, candied red fruit, wild Mediterranean herbs, balsamics and spice. On the palate balance between sweetness and bitterness, good acidity and freshness against the wood layer; gastronomic profile for table and glass.

How to serve it

Very cold with ice and orange slice; aperitif with gildas, crisps or snacks. Base of Negroni Pista Corta (1/3 red vermouth, 1/3 Gin Rein Bradley, 1/3 Bitter Gallo Bravo).

Production context

100% Tempranillo base; botanical maceration with twelve botanicals and four months in ex-rum American oak. 15% vol., 75 cl. Peñín 91 pts.
