Overall impression

Vermú Corito Blanco is the pale variant of the Corito range, the first Palencia vermouth made artisanally in Torquemada by Destilería Esteban Araujo. White vermouth on Verdejo at fifteen degrees, with orange and lemon peel, wormwood, cinnamon, ginger and clove. Silver International Wine & Spirits Awards 2025; one-litre format (~€11) for domestic and local hospitality use. Against Clásico and Rosé, it brings Castilian Verdejo freshness and very aromatic citrus scrubland botanicals.

Nose and palate

Pale golden straw yellow, clean, bright and light in density. Very aromatic nose: lemon peel, scrubland (thyme, sage) and a balsamic background that balances the set. Powerful entry with a sweet touch; scrubland and citrus return mid-palate. Less bitter than Clásico, more herbal and luminous: long-session Castilian white.

How to serve it

Very cold in a wide glass with ice, green olive or lemon peel — terrace aperitif or weekend digestif. The one-litre bottle suits shared family gatherings or village bars seeking a regional white vermouth with good volume-for-money. Also works in simple mixes with soda or tonic when wanting a white with more herbal character than sweetness. Pairs with fresh cheeses, salads, light fish and Mediterranean aperitifs; thyme and sage suggest olives, dressed potatoes or mild preserves. At fifteen degrees, a long-session vermouth that does not tire the palate.

Destilería Esteban Araujo makes Corito Blanco in Torquemada (Palencia), in the heart of the Cerrato. Confirmed: white type, Verdejo variety, 15% vol., citrus peel, wormwood, cinnamon, ginger and clove botanicals, one-litre format. Corito Vermú brand philosophy: natural raw materials, selected botanicals, wine and grape spirit, artisan techniques without additives. Clásico red was born in 2016 after months of trials from a 1900 family manuscript; white and rosé extend the range with distinct varietal bases.
