Vermú Corito Rojo is the accessible red variant of the Corito range, the first Palencia vermouth made artisanally in Torquemada by Destilería Esteban Araujo. Red vermouth on Viura and Albillo at fifteen degrees, with orange and lemon peel, wormwood, cinnamon, ginger and clove. Compared with Clásico — more marked bitterness and stronger competition track — the Red shares base and botanicals but prioritises soft entry and easy drinking in one-litre format (~€10): everyday Castilian red, without Reserva depth or Clásico character.

Nose and palate

Honey-amber colour with coppery edges, clean and bright. Fresh, citrusy nose with cinnamon, clove and cardamom. Soft entry on the palate and slightly bitter aftertaste, with balanced acidity. Less structured and less bitter than Clásico; amiable profile for long sessions and shared drinking.

How to serve it

Very cold in a wide glass with ice, green olive or orange peel — afternoon aperitif or weekend vermut in the Palencia Cerrato. Its gentle entry and slightly bitter aftertaste suit simple mixes with soda or bitter when seeking a Castilian red without the high alcohol of Italian vermouths or the intense bitterness of Clásico. The litre format invites shared drinking. Pairs with charcuterie, aged cheeses, dressed potatoes and peninsular aperitif preserves. At fifteen degrees, a long-session vermouth.
