Overall impression

Vermú Corito Reserva is the aged expression of Destilería Esteban Araujo (Torquemada, Palencia): reserve red vermouth on Viura and Albillo with natural botanicals — orange and lemon peel, wormwood, cinnamon, ginger and clove — and 24 months in American and French oak. Gold International Wine & Spirits Awards 2025 (93 points) and gold CWWSC 2026 (92); Verema 93. Greater complexity and structure than entry-level Corito, at 15–20 €/litre — strong quality-price for a Castilian artisan reserve.

Nose and palate

Honey-amber colour with coppery edges, clean and bright. Nose of great intensity, fresh and citrusy, complex and elegant, from natural maceration and ageing. Palate of marked bitterness, balanced acidity and a sweet touch that lengthens the finish: persistent, easy to drink and elegant. Twenty-four months in wood add depth without masking wormwood or citrus; peak of the Corito range.

How to serve it

In a glass with large ice and orange peel; slow aperitif where wood adds depth.
