Overall impression

Vermut Igarmi Rojo is the classic vermouth of Bodegas Igarmi (Heras, Cantabria), a family winery since 1890 and the largest in the region. An original recipe of more than sixty years, revived from 1918 formulas: Atlantic white wines, twelve botanicals and ageing in a French oak solera for nine to twelve months. Distinct from Igarmi Solera in its documented 1 L format elsewhere on Vermutpedia.

On ice, as a Cantabrian aperitif or in regional cocktails (Atlantic Red, Cantabrian Negroni).

Production context

Made in Heras (Cantabria). Maceration 30–45 days with twelve botanicals (wormwood, gentian, cinnamon, clove, juniper, citrus); French oak solera 9–12 months. 15% vol., 75 cl (~€9.95 reference). Microfiltration at 1 µ according to distributor. Limited batches (~25,000 bottles/year).
