Overall impression

Papatán is the semisweet vermouth of Torreperogil (Jaén): a tribute to grandfather Sebastián «Papatán» and the quiet endeavour of eastern Andalusia. It is built on local Jaén Blanca wine — not generic white with caramel — macerated with indigenous botanicals (fennel, chamomile, eucalyptus, rosemary) through a slow, natural process, without essences or flavour enhancers. Recognised in the specialist press with a gold medal among nearly three thousand international wines and spirits.

Nose and palate

Intense sensations from the first sip; a journey of flavours with honeyed sweetness, brandy, cinnamon, chamomile and the freshness of eucalyptus, closing on a harmonious, pleasant bitterness. A surprising personality that sets Jaén vermouth apart from Spain's industrial sweet profile.

How to serve it

With pickles, cheeses, charcuterie or fruity desserts; also with tonic or soda for a summery mixed drink.

Production context

Artisan production since 2023 in Torreperogil (Obispo Basulto, 159). 15.4% vol., 75 cl. Vermouth range: classic semisweet reference, Papatán Picante with estate-grown cayenne (75 cl) and premium Edición Pureza in 70 cl with gift box.
