Sardino Vermut Rojo
Vermutpedia Score: 7.5/10
Overall impression
Sardino Vermut Rojo is maritime vermouth from Pontevedra with tradition since 1943: essence made in clay jars with plants, flowers and botanicals in wine alcohol and spring water, then blended with base red wine and caramel. Artisan, Atlantic and with a lightly saline touch; entry reference alongside the white and Reserva.
Nose and palate
Mahogany red, clean and without turbidity. Highly aromatic: vanilla, chamomile and cinnamon. Perfect balance between bitterness, sweetness and acidity; little alcoholic connotation and long maritime vermouth aftertaste.
How to serve it
Between 6 and 8 °C with stuffed olives and orange slice. Pairs with fish, shellfish, rice dishes and preserves.
Production context
Maceration in clay jar; rest facing the Atlantic. Marketed from Pontevedra. 15% vol., 75 cl. Sardino range: Red, White and Reserva.
