Overall impression

Vermouth Blanco Barañano is the new white reference from Licores Barañano (Amurrio, Álava), a family distillery with tradition since 1831. The official technical sheet presents it as inspired by 1921 writings on vermouth making, with a double maceration process: first in alcoholature — for intensity and resilience — then in wine — for freshness. Fourteen selected botanicals; the house illustrates wormwood, angelica, savory, chamomile, elderflower, lavender, centaury and dittany. 15% vol., 85 g/L sugar (semi-dry), 75 cl bottle. It expands the house vermouth range alongside the classic red inspired by 1881 and the limited Egurrez aged in ex-Islay whisky cask.

How to serve it

Per the official sheet, serve between 6 and 8 °C. Perfect serve: wine glass with plenty of ice, a lime slice and optionally an olive. The house also proposes the White Spritz cocktail: 6 cl Vermouth Blanco, 8 cl sparkling wine, a splash of soda, ice, lime and mint.

Made in Amurrio by Licores Barañano with double maceration (alcoholature + wine) and 14 botanicals. 15% vol., 85 g/L residual sugar, 75 cl format (34 cm height, 1.4 kg weight per sheet; EAN 8420328 100541). Contains sulphites. Third reference in the Barañano vermouth line alongside the standard red and Egurrez.
