Vermut Ciento Volando Naranja

Bodegas Urbanas (Fernández Pons)

Godella , España

Overall impression

Vermut Ciento Volando Naranja is, according to the Bodegas Urbanas technical sheet, «our most Valencian vermouth»: the taste of the land for vermouth hour. It is made with estate Macabeo white wine; alcohol comes from distilling their own organic wines, and oranges are macerated in that alcohol then redistilled to capture natural citrus aromas. Flowers, fruits, spices and Mediterranean forest aromatic herbs complete the recipe, with orange as the predominant note. At 15.5% vol. and 75 cl, it balances territorial identity and accessibility within the organic Ciento Volando range — red, white, pink and orange — in Godella, ten kilometres from Valencia.

How to serve it

According to the technical sheet, serve cold between 6 and 8 °C over ice; garnish with an orange and/or lemon slice and, if desired, an olive. Pairs with salted fish, pickles, preserves and/or spiced or spicy food. Shines in a wide glass or balloon cup, in spritz with soda or in citrus Mediterranean mixed drinks. Ideal for terraces and Sunday vermut. Available at bodegasurbanas.es/tienda, in 6-bottle cases and 20 L Key Keg; also in tastings and ElWineBar in Godella.
