Cinzano 1757 Vermouth di Torino Rosso
Overall impression
Vermutpedia is re-evaluating the Italian catalogue; the Vermutpedia Score for this entry remains pending until the new tasting round is complete. The Bottega Cinzano 1757 range pays tribute to Giovanni Giacomo and Carlo Stefano Cinzano, who founded the house in Turin in 1757. Rosso is the premium, numbered expression of Turinese red vermouth versus the classic line: limited production, Vermouth di Torino G.I. and botanicals selected at peak ripeness, including Piedmontese wormwood, vanilla, clove and orange peel. Fuller and more assertive than standard Cinzano Rosso, with a velvety bitter finish intended for serious aperitivos and high-level cocktail work.
Nose and palate
Reddish brown colour with amber reflections. The nose unfolds spice, wood, vanilla, dried fig and wormwood in layers that recall Piedmontese liqueur tradition. On the palate clove, nutmeg, liquorice, vanilla and alpine flowers emerge; the whole is complex, round and smooth, with a long bittersweet finish where absinthe bitterness balances measured sweetness. A step above supermarket rosso in aromatic density.
How to serve it
Aperitivo at 15–17 °C with ice, premium Negroni or Americano when vermouth with more body than classic Cinzano is sought. The brand positions it as «un assaggio di storia» — a taste of history — within its vermouth portfolio.
Production context
Italian wine and more than thirty aromatic botanicals in Turinese tradition. 16–17% vol., 1 litre. 1757 line alongside Extra Dry and Bianco.
