Blanco

Utiel-Requena

Overall impression

Descaro Vermut Blanco is the white vermouth in Bodegas Nodus' Descaro line (Caudete de las Fuentes, Utiel-Requena): a bold, graphic bet on Valencian Macabeo macerated with botanicals — orange, grapefruit, cardamom, bitter almond and other herbs and spices — for a fresh, smooth, complex profile. The house defines it as cheekiness («descaro») in bottle and on the palate: Mediterranean vermouth designed to surprise while keeping balance between sweetness and bitterness. 90 points Guía Peñín 2019.

Nose and palate

Pending evaluation.

How to serve it

Very cold, with two ice cubes and an olive or orange peel, per winery recommendation; also neat in a Valencian aperitif glass.

Production context

Made by Bodegas Nodus at Finca el Renegado (46315 Caudete de las Fuentes). 15% vol., 75 cl. Two-reference Descaro range: this Macabeo white and red Descaro Bobal.
