Arudi Vermouth di Torino Bianco

Arudi

Torino , Italia

Overall impression

Vermutpedia is re-evaluating the Italian catalogue; the Vermutpedia Score for this entry remains pending until the next tasting round. Arudi Vermouth di Torino Bianco recovers an early twentieth-century recipe from the professional liqueur manual published in 1923 by Giulio Arudi, Turin flavorist. Max and Mirna Bernardini (Vertosan) reinterpreted the formula to return a floral, sweet white to the market — more expressive than the dry and less spiced than the rosso. Winner of the Grande Médaille d'Or 2021 at Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

Nose and palate

Straw yellow with golden rim. Sweet, spiced nose with elderflower, elecampane and bitter orange peel over a vanilla background. On the palate, distinctive personality: wormwood and centaury flowers bring persistent bitterness, enriched by lemon peel, vanilla, orris root and spices (coriander, cinnamon, nutmeg). Key botanicals include absinthe, bitter orange and lemon.

How to serve it

At 10–12 °C, neat or with ice and lemon or orange peel. Also in cocktails with bitter or gin, as in the 1930s recipes the house recovers.

Production context

Made under the Vermouth di Torino specification. 17% vol., 75 cl. Completes the Arudi trilogy alongside Rosso and Dry, plus the brand's bitter. Legal seat in Turin (Via Bertolotti, 7).
