Vermut La Fabulosa Blanco
Santiago de Compostela , España
Vermutpedia Score: 7.5/10
Overall impression
La Fabulosa Blanco shares the centenary 1914 recipe with the brand's red, but oriented toward a brighter, more aperitif profile. La Destilería de las Ideas selects native Galician grapes—Godello and Sauvignon Blanc—as a rounded base before botanical maceration. Made in Santiago de Compostela, it is the clear expression of one of Galicia's most recognisable vermouth brands, available in bottle and Bag-in-Box formats.
Nose and palate
Straw yellow colour. Intense, fresh aromas with herbal and wild-herb background—sage, marjoram, lemon verbena, artemisia, cinnamon and vanilla in the official formula. On the palate it is round, powerful and dense, with herbal and spiced nuances; long, very pleasant finish, balanced between bitter and sweet.
How to serve it
Serve very cold, with ice and citrus, as aperitif before light meals or Galician seafood spreads. Also in summery mixed drinks where aromatic freshness is wanted without losing body.
Production context
After herb and extract maceration, the vermouth rests in wooden bocoyes and is filtered before bottling. Same alcohol and volume as the red: fifteen percent, 75 cl. The La Fabulosa range also includes sparkling wines, sangría and the Etiqueta Negra red vermouth edition.
