Overall impression

La Fabulosa Rojo is a Compostela vermouth made by La Destilería de las Ideas from an early-twentieth-century traditional recipe, in the line of the legend of Sabela and the Galician port warehouse. It selects native Galician varieties—Godello and Sauvignon Blanc—to bring the roundness a classic vermouth demands, between bitter and sweet. It is the red reference in a range that includes white, Etiqueta Negra edition and Bag-in-Box formats for hospitality.

Nose and palate

Mahogany with copper glints. Intense, fragrant nose with herbal notes of artemisia, marjoram and sage among other herbs. On the palate it shows weight and consistency, round and powerful passage; long finish with herbal and spiced retronasal. Very pleasant bitter aftertaste with sweet nuances.

How to serve it

With ice and orange slice in Compostela aperitif; also available in 2 and 5 litre boxes for intensive bar consumption.

Production context

After adding sugar, extracts and herb maceration—sage, marjoram, lemon verbena, artemisia, cinnamon and vanilla—it rests in wooden bocoyes and is filtered before bottling in Santiago de Compostela. Fifteen percent alcohol, 75 cl. Commercialised by La Destilería de las Ideas, the enological arm of the La Fabulosa brand.
