Overall impression

Perucchi Rojo condenses the legacy of Don Augustus Perucchi, who created Spain's first vermouth in Badalona in 1876. It is the gateway to the house: without Gran Reserva's solera depth, but with the same artisan philosophy — natural ingredients, no preservatives or colourants — and the litre format of the Catalan bar. Wines and mistelas from Alt Empordà, Valencia and La Mancha, macerated with more than twenty botanicals from the original recipe.

Nose and palate

Amber colour with ruby reflections. The nose is spiced and vegetal, with a dried-fruit background that anticipates the Mediterranean character of the base. On the palate it is balanced and slightly bitter, with amiable passage and long finish in the line of the historic Badalonese profile: less dense than Gran Reserva, more direct and versatile for cocktails where a semisweet red without oak ageing is sought.

How to serve it

With ice, orange peel and olive as a classic aperitif; also as an accessible base for Negroni or Manhattan. Pairs with preserves, anchovies and traditional vermouth-hour snacks.

Production context

Century-old soleras in the same vats installed by Augustus Perucchi; every bottle in the range includes vermouth more than 150 years old. Cork stopper from Alt Empordà and beechwood from Osona. 15% vol., 7º Baumé, 1 litre.
