Cala Morisca Vermut Rojo is the entry reference from Celler Díaz (Sitges, Garraf): after a century's absence, Sitges recovers its vermouth with a brand inspired by the homonymous cove. Family micro-winery of Miguel A. Díaz; distinct from other independent productions under the Cala Morisca name documented separately in Vermutpedia. Traditional production with more than twenty-five botanicals macerated two months according to La Vermu and Catvinum.

Nose and palate

Dark toasted brilliant colour. Herbaceous aroma with wormwood in the foreground, cinnamon and clove, and subtle bitter orange peel citrus in the final maceration phase. On the palate typical vermouth sweet-bitter conjunction; unctuous, good mid-palate and long aftertaste with fruity and sweet touches according to distributors.

How to serve it

Cold with ice and orange slice; Mediterranean Sitges aperitivo. Part of the White & Black Pack alongside Cala Morisca white. The gateway to the range before Black and Blue Edition premium expressions.

Made in Sitges (Barcelona). Garraf Macabeo base; more than twenty-five botanicals; two months maceration. 15% vol., 75 cl (~€8.25–9.85 RRP). Celler Díaz range: Red, White, Black Edition, Blue Edition and Egarenca.
