Cala Morisca Vermut Negre (Soriano)
Overall impression
Cala Morisca Vermut Negre is an artisan vermouth made by Miquel Ángel Soriano in Sitges (Barcelona), named after an emblematic cove of the municipality. **Do not confuse** with the homonymous Celler Díaz range (Red, White, Black/Blue Edition) documented separately in Vermutpedia. Traditional production with more than twenty-five botanicals macerated for two months; marketed as an organic product in specialised channels.
Nose and palate
Dark toasted colour. Herbaceous aroma with wormwood in the foreground; notes of cinnamon and clove with subtle bitter orange peel citrus nuances. On the palate combines typical vermouth sweetness and bitterness, with fruity and sweet touches according to Vinomada.
How to serve it
Cold in a low glass, alone or over ice. Fits Mediterranean Sitges aperitivo with preserves and tapas. The red pole of Soriano's independent duo, distinct from the commercial Celler Díaz line that shares the cove name.
Production context
Made in Sitges (Barcelona). Traditional method; maceration of more than twenty-five botanicals for two months. 15% vol., 75 cl. Sibling in range: Cala Morisca Vermut Blanc. Independent producer without documented historic winery; identity tied to Sitges territory.
