Vermú KDLSO
Overall impression
Vermú KDLSO is the artisan vermouth from Bodega Siguín, a family project started in 2014 in Cadalso de los Vidrios (Madrid) with production in Pelayos de la Presa. Unlike many vermouths on a white-wine base, it starts from red Garnacha wine that, according to the bodega, brings complexity and structure; it is finished with natural botanicals and citrus and just the right amount of brown sugar for balance. Intended as an aperitif companion. Vermutpedia score: pending.
Nose and palate
Pending evaluation.
How to serve it
As an aperitif, per the house recommendation. Very cold, in a glass; standard table-vermouth format.
Production context
Made by Bodega Siguín (vineyards in Cadalso de los Vidrios; facilities at Calle del Hilero 7, Pelayos de la Presa, Madrid) on Gredos-area red Garnacha, with botanicals, natural citrus and brown sugar. It is the base of Vermú KDLSO Reserva, which ages 12 months in new American oak. Sources: bodegasiguin.com.
